Boys
there were a number of emails doing the rounds about a year ago flagging that we were coming up to the anniversary of 30 years since the date we joined the Navy, and in a particularly benevolent frame of mind (drunk) I think I indicated I would organise a function... so that makes me the Organising Officer (OO). Birch has since reminded of this so under threat of a sternum punch here we go....
First thing we need to do is establish a contact list (the CL)... to this end I have spoken with "Big Al" who is now working for himself and assures me he has plenty of time on his hands and he is going to manage our central contact point which makes him Officer in Charge of the Central Contact Point (OICCCP) which will be
http://www.carwardine.info/je79/je79.htm
if you browse there you will see us all in our circa 79 glory and then a few of us 20 years later, you will also see the contacts page where OICCCP has very cleverly camouflaged our addresses if someone can work it out please let me know.
But we have a problem and that is the list on the home page does not tally with the list on the contacts page we are missing 15 of the class so we need to get onto that. To that end Buzz in his capacity as CIO (Chief Investigating Officer) has very kindly volunteered with the assistance of Gumpy John ACIO (Assistant Chief Investigating Officer) to track down the missing names.
So while CIO is getting this underway we will concentrate on the issue at hand, which is... do we want to have a reunion... if so where, when, who should come, how long should it go for and what the itinerary should be.
So in the interests of expediting this process could everyone please reply the OO (me) by 1700 hours on by 28th of February indicating your preferences in the JE79 reunion Survey (JE79RS). We can then have the Senior Officer Present SOP (that would be Stump - he told me) make a command decision on your responses and we can ask questions after the event.
